Record sharingUpdated solution allows quick, secure information sharing
Visual Alert 2 enables law enforcement agencies to get real-time access to police records through Pennsylvania’s Law Enforcement Justice Information System (LEJIS) and other authorized information sharing networks while the department maintains secure control of the information it shares
Wayne, Pennsylvania-based Metro Technology Services said it has updated its Records Management System (RMS), Visual Alert. The newest version of Visual Alert 2 offers enhancements to support Pennsylvania’s Law Enforcement Justice Information System (LEJIS), and also provides other features to enable law enforcement agencies to streamline their processes and spend more time protecting their communities.
“LEJIS is an incredibly valuable system for public safety agencies throughout Pennsylvania and our goal is to enable law enforcement personnel to leverage the power of LEJIS through our Visual Alert solution,” said Tony Iannacone, founder and president of Metro Technology. “We are taking LEJIS to a new level by enabling local, county, state, and federal agencies to share relevant information and by also making sure they have total control over the information their individual department chooses to share. Our Visual Alert solution offers tight security measures to ensure our clients’ data is protected and transmitted over a secure network for sharing data useful to others.”
The company says Visual Alert 2 enables law enforcement agencies to get real-time access to police records through LEJIS and other authorized information sharing networks while the department maintains secure control of the information it shares. The new version of the solution provides enhanced LEJIS capabilities, such as prioritizing results when conducting a LEJIS search for information on a specific individual, incident, or case. This functionality saves time for users which would normally have to sift through large amounts of information available in LEJIS.
Visual Alert 2 also offers two new programs for advanced information sharing that are built into the RMS. The Visual Alert 2 Resource for Information Sharing Systems (VA2/RISS) tags information approved for sharing by the department’s authority in real-time, allowing the agency to isolate and translate data with LEJIS or any other sharing environment, such as Pennsylvania’s County Justice and Public Safety Information Sharing (CJPSIS). The second program, Visual Alert 2 Approved Generator of Information for Law Enforcement (VA2/AGILE), queues-up for, and accepts information from, information sharing partners, enabling agencies to communicate over any industry-standard secure network.
In addition, this update to Metro Technology’s RMS includes security features in support of the future LEJIS interactive incident report search, popularly called IR&R, which will allow agencies to request and obtain follow-up details from cooperating agencies selected from the prioritized LEJIS search results.
