Prepared Response to protect Huntington Library
Deal makes a significant foray into the private market; Rapid Responder, company’s crisis management software, already a hit among emergency response agencies
With its flagship crisis management software Rapid Responder leading the way,
Seattle, Washington-based Prepared Response (PRI) has already made a name for itsel among the government set. The system permits individual responders to instantly access predetermined safety plans, floor plans, staging areas, hazardous materials, utility shut-off locations, and photos of a structure — great features that set the standard for this emerging field. 288 public safety and emergency agencies are already using the software, but PRI is looking to expand into the private sector. This week the company announced that the San Marino, California-based Huntington Library center had purchased Rapid Responder to help protect its massive rare books and manuscripts collections. “Rapid Responder appealed to us because it gives us a way to organize and easily update our extensive emergency response data,” said Laurie Sowd of the Huntington.
