BiometricsiBeta becomes NIST approved biometrics test lab

With the increasing ubiquity of biometrics in everything from airport scanners, laptops, cell phones, hospitals, and vehicles, iBeta Quality Assurance recently gained official certification to test new biometric technologies.

In anticipation of the burgeoning biometric industry, iBeta developed a quality management system and biometrics test procedures that have been independently audited and certified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

“Biometrics is a growing global market and iBeta is pleased to expand its testing services to the biometrics market-place and to provide its clients with certifications to better prepare them in a competitive market,” said Dr. Kevin Wilson, iBeta’s director of biometrics.

With its new test procedures, iBeta will be able to evaluate everything from iris scanners to palm readers and facial recognition technology.

Mike Stark, the director of sales and marketing, welcomed the accreditation for the company’s latest procedures stating, “This is an exciting opportunity for iBeta to be an accredited Biometrics System Test lab.
