BusinessCSC, Knight Point Systems receive DHS mentor- protégé award

DHS Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) the other day selected Falls Church, Virginia-based CSC and Reston, Virginia-based Knight Point Systems to receive the 2012 DHS Mentor-Protégé Team of the Year award. The award is presented to the mentor-protégé team that demonstrates teamwork, and the mentor that provides the most effective developmental support to a protégé. Working with senior DHS management, the OSDBU solicited nominations from participating mentors to determine the winner.

“This recognition of our work with Knight Point Systems is a resounding testament to the success of CSC’s mentor-protégé program and reaffirms our commitment to small and disadvantaged businesses in the federal market,” said Dave Zolet, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector business unit. “CSC appreciates the recognition of this award, as well as the impressive track record that the Department of Homeland Security possesses in achieving its small business subcontracting goals.”

Knight Point Systems, which was founded in 2005, was invited by CSC in 2009 to be its protégé in the DHS mentor-protégé program. In 2010 the company won CSC’s Subcontractor of the Year award for its technical innovation and its approach to serving its DHS clients on several tasks from the EAGLE contract and the Stennis Data Center program.
