Cross Match shows new biometric solution to help federal agencies comply with HSPD-12
Compliance with ever-more-demanding security and back up requirements is a problem, and a new biometric storage and management solution aims to help federal agencies comply with HSPD-12
Palm Beach Gardens, Florida-based Cross Match Technologies is releasing PIV One, a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) solution compatible with HSPD-12. PIV One will allow federal government agencies to create verified biometric personal identity records of employees and contractors, a measure mandated by the presidential directive. The records can then be formatted into an Electronic Fingerprint Transmission Specification (EFTS) file and submitted to the FBI’s Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) for background checks. The records will also contain the biometric and demographic information necessary to construct standards-based, compliant smart card credentials for the individuals.
PIV One aggregates all of the necessary demographic, biometric, and documentary information about an individual and stores it in a centralized database for federal employee vetting and biometric credentialing.
